OpenSea Exploring NFT Royalties

OpenSea has officially announced that they are reconsidering their policy on enforcing creator content royalty fees for NFTs as a result of community feedback, stating that they will continue to enforce creator royalty fees.

This comes after they announced they were considering cutting creator royalties, which was met by strong community backlash.

LooksRare was one of the marketplaces that recently announced that they would no longer be supporting creator royalties by default, however will 25% of the LookRare Protocol fee with its creators.

OpenSea says that it will continue to enforce creator fees on all existing collections and that reaching out to the community for guidance was done in order to better understand a variety of perspectives.
